The pure water nurtured by the nature of Shodoshima and the spectacular view of the rice terraces created using that water. This healing spot is woven together with the Senmaida rice fields, which evoke the original landscape of Japan, and the famous water, which is also known as a power spot.
"Yubune no Mizu" (Water of the Baths) has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Famous Springs. 400 tons of water springs out daily from under a rock at the western edge of the temple grounds, at a constant temperature of 16°C.

Yubune no Mizu is rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium, and its taste has been described as "mellow and sweet." It's also ideal for growing rice, contributing to the delicious rice produced in Senmaida downstream.

Senmaida, the rice paddies on Shodoshima through which Yufune no Mizu flows, are made up of over 200 terraced fields. Senmaida has a history of over 1,300 years and is known as one of Japan's most representative rice terraces.

[Useful Information]
The road to Yufune no Mizu is a somewhat narrow mountain road. Please drive carefully, keeping an eye out for oncoming traffic. Senmaida has many steps, so we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
