This historic lodging soba restaurant is located next to the Nakasha Shrine of Togakushi Shrine. With over 500 years of tradition, this famous restaurant serves hand-made thin soba noodles and additive-free special soup, allowing you to taste the essence of Togakushi soba.
Tokuzenin Soba Gokui is a soba restaurant attached to the temple lodging "Gokui," which boasts a history dating back over 500 years. The owner, who is also a Shinto priest, uses carefully selected buckwheat flour and traditional hand-slices the noodles, pursuing a smooth texture and pleasant bite.

The restaurant's interior is a relaxing space with a traditional Japanese atmosphere.

[Trivia]
Togakushi soba is a religious food that has been used since the Muromachi period. It developed as a vegetarian dish to entertain worshippers, and the soba noodles at Gokui incorporate techniques reminiscent of Zen training.
