The building is a renovated sake brewery built in the Meiji era, and has a tasteful atmosphere. The exhibition room is divided into two, the first floor and the second floor.

On the first floor, about 200 stuffed fish are displayed, mainly fish from the Sea of Japan. You can see a wide variety of seafood, including large fish such as sharks, dolphins, and whales, as well as crustaceans such as octopus, squid, and shrimp, as well as shellfish.

On the second floor, materials related to the sea and life in Sakaiminato are displayed. You can see tools and daily necessities related to the sea, such as fishing gear, folk tools, and farming tools. You can also learn about the history and culture of Sakaiminato.
