Kawatana Camphor Forest is a huge camphor tree that is said to be 1000 years old. Branches and leaves extend horizontally as wide as 58m.

It is estimated to be over 1000 years old and is designated as a national natural monument.

It is popular as one of Shimonoseki City's leading power spots.
