Located along National Route 175 near the Kasuga Interchange entrance/exit on the Tsurumai-Wakasa Expressway, this roadside station offers local specialties, gourmet food, and a spacious grassy area that the whole family can enjoy.
Located in Hikami-cho, Tamba City, Roadside Station Tamba Obaachan no Sato offers a warm atmosphere that embodies the rich nature and history of the Tamba region and the wisdom of grandmothers. The spacious farm stand offers a wide selection of seasonal Tamba specialties, including Tamba chestnuts and Tamba black soybeans. Autumn Tamba chestnuts and black edamame are especially popular, attracting visitors from far and wide.

The store also offers a wide selection of fresh locally grown vegetables, processed foods, and handmade sweets, making it the perfect place to find souvenirs.

The restaurant offers a menu that's more like a service area than a restaurant, with dishes like tonkatsu and fried chicken set meals, as well as soba, udon, and ramen. While it's unfortunate, the menu is more like something you'd find at a rest stop than one featuring local ingredients, we hope to see improvements to the local menu in the future.

The flavorful gelato, made with plenty of local Tamba milk and changing with the seasons, is also popular.

Tamba chestnuts. "Tamba chestnut ice cream," made with Tamba black soybeans, is also popular.

The facility features a spacious lawn and playground equipment where children can play to their heart's content, making it a great choice for families with small children.
