Takahashi City Nariwa Museum of Art features a beautiful building designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando. It is one of Okayama's leading museums, showcasing works by local Western-style painter Torajiro Kojima, as well as ancient Egyptian art and Japan's oldest plant fossils, allowing visitors to enjoy the harmony of art and nature.
Takahashi City Naruwa Museum of Art is located in Naruwa-cho, Takahashi City, and you can enjoy the architectural beauty of Tadao Ando, which is woven with concrete, water, and greenery. The main collection is paintings by Torajiro Kojima, a Western-style painter from Naruwa-cho, Takahashi City. He is also known for contributing to the establishment of the Ohara Museum of Art, and his colorful works captivate the viewer. In addition, about 150 pieces of ancient Egyptian artifacts collected by Torajiro Kojima in Europe and Egypt are on display, making you feel as if you are traveling through a different culture.

In addition, the oldest plant fossils in Japan, "NARIWA Flora," which are unearthed in the Naruwa region, are also on display, allowing you to experience the history of the earth and the mysteries of life. In addition to the permanent exhibition, various special exhibitions and special exhibitions are held throughout the year, and you will find something new every time you visit. Since the building itself is a work of art, it is recommended not only for art lovers but also for those interested in architecture. You can spend a fulfilling time in a space that is in harmony with the rich nature of the surrounding area.

[Hidden gem information]
About a 20-minute drive from the museum is the streetscape of Fukiya, which flourished during the Edo period. Fukiya's streetscape, which flourished due to the red pigment called "Bengara," is designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the national government, and the red Sekishu tiles and Bengala-colored walls create a unique landscape. In addition to visiting the museum, we recommend spending a day strolling through Japan's traditional streetscape and experiencing history and culture.
