This waterfall is located in the Nishizawa Valley, a famous spot for autumn leaves, and has been selected as one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls.
The best time to see autumn leaves is from early October to late October.
There is a circular hiking/trekking course to reach the waterfall, which takes about 3 to 4 hours round trip.

About 500m before the entrance to Nishizawa Valley is the ``Roadside Station Mitomi''.
