Nihon-daira is a hilly area in Shizuoka City with an altitude of 307 meters, and is a spectacular spot that has been selected as one of the "100 Best Tourist Spots in Japan". In particular, from the summit, you can see an unparalleled magnificent panorama of the majestic World Heritage Mt. Fuji, the Miho no Matsubara in the foreground, and the sparkling Suruga Bay. This breathtaking view shows different expressions depending on the time of day and season, and continues to fascinate visitors.

In 2018, the "Nihon-daira Yume Terrace" designed by Kengo Kuma opened, a beautiful observation facility that uses plenty of wood, allowing you to enjoy a 360-degree view more comfortably. Inside the terrace, there is a cafe and exhibition space overlooking Mt. Fuji, where you can spend some time relaxing. At night, you can enjoy the beautiful night view of Shizuoka city and a romantic atmosphere.

Nihon-daira is also the access point to Kunozan Toshogu Shrine. From the Nihon-daira Ropeway, which connects Nihon-daira and Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, you can head to the historic Toshogu Shrine with a spectacular view of Suruga Bay below.
