Iwai Yukamuri Onsen Public Bath is a representative public bath in Iwai Onsen, located in Iwami Town, Tottori Prefecture, and boasts a history of about 1,200 years. The spring quality is calcium-sodium sulfate spring, and the source temperature is a high temperature of 47.6°C. The spring is poured directly from the source without heating or adding water, so you can enjoy fresh, high-quality hot spring water to your heart's content. In particular, it is known as a place where the unique bathing custom of "yukamuri," in which a hand towel is placed on the head and hot water is poured over the head with a ladle, still remains.
Yukamuri Onsen Public Bath is a hot spring facility loved by locals, which retains the atmosphere of a traditional public bath. The bathroom has two baths with different temperatures, one with hot spring water poured directly into it, and the other with lukewarm water, where you can enjoy bathing while getting your body used to the water. Because the water is drawn directly from the source, the bath is always filled with fresh water, so it is hygienic and safe to use.

After bathing, there is a spacious tatami-floored rest area where you can relax after your bath. If you have the opportunity to interact with local regulars, you will enjoy hearing about Iwai Onsen's unique "Yukamuri" culture and old stories related to the hot springs. Towels and soap are sold, so you can visit empty-handed. Please contact us in advance to rent a hair dryer.
