A spring-only snow wall approaching 20 meters in height appears in Tateyama Murododaira, one of the world's snowiest areas, located in Tateyama Town, Toyama Prefecture. This is a spring seasonal feature of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, and you can have an exciting experience walking through a majestic snow corridor.
Tateyama Snow Valley is a huge snow wall that appears only every spring in the Murodo area of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route at an altitude of 2,450m, located in Tateyama Town, Nakaniikawa District, Toyama Prefecture. The snow that fell during the winter is cleared away by snow removal work to form a snow corridor that reaches a height of 20 meters. The majestic scenery gives the feeling of walking through a "snow valley", and it is a spring feature of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which attracts many tourists from both Japan and abroad.

The greatest attraction of this snow valley is its large scale and the special feeling that can only be experienced in spring. The experience of walking between the shining white snow walls is very extraordinary and gives you an impression that you cannot experience in the city. On sunny days, the contrast between the white snow and the blue sky is dazzling and makes for excellent photos. The height of the snow wall is highest immediately after the opening in mid-April, and gradually decreases towards the end of May, but its impact remains the same.

Tateyama Snow Valley is not just a place to walk, you can also enjoy the magnificent view of the Tateyama mountain range and touch the snow walls from the observation deck set up along the snow corridor. There are also restaurants and shops around Murodo Terminal where you can enjoy meals, rest, and souvenir shopping.

It can be viewed for two months from mid-April to mid-June.
