A mixed-gender open-air bath along the Kamata River in Shinhotaka Onsenkyo. This is a hidden hot spring where you can enjoy the natural hot spring water while listening to the murmuring of the river in the middle of nature.
Shinhotaka no Yu is a particularly popular open-air bath full of openness and rustic charm in the Shinhotaka Onsen area, which spreads out at the foot of the Northern Alps. Located on the banks of the Kamata River, you can enjoy the majestic mountains and the murmuring of the clear stream from the bathtub at the same time, making it a place that can be called a hidden hot spring in the middle of nature.

This hot spring is a communal bath managed by local people and volunteers, and the bathing fee is a small donation (a small donation of gratitude). Although it is basically a mixed bath, the changing rooms are separate for men and women, and you can bathe in a swimsuit. The clear, unclouded hot spring water will soothe your daily fatigue and relax your mind and body.

The scenery changes with the seasons, and the seasons of fresh greenery and autumn leaves are especially special. The Shinhotaka Ropeway and other hot spring facilities are dotted around the area, making it an ideal place to stop by between sightseeing. This is a hot spring spot known only to those in the know, where you can spend a blissful time while feeling the blessings of nature on your skin.

The spring water is lukewarm at 37 to 38 degrees.

It is completely visible from the bridge, but many women bathe in wearing swimsuits or bath towels.

Depending on the weather, it may be closed when the water level rises.

There is a designated parking lot just across the bridge in front of the facility, with space for about 10 standard cars. Parking in any other area (on the road or in a place that obstructs traffic) is prohibited. Repeated violations may result in the police being reported.

Recently, there have been a lot of customers with poor manners, so they are considering closing the hot spring. We hope that the customers will continue to follow the rules and continue for a long time to come.
