Located on the side of Arashiyama's bamboo forest road, this shrine is popular among women as it brings good luck in finding good relationships, children, and learning.

The main deity enshrined at Nonomiya Shrine is Amaterasu Omikami. It also enshrines Nonomiya Daikokuten, known as the god of marriage, Shirofuku Inari Daimyojin, known as the god of safe childbirth, and Oyama Benzaiten, known as the god of traffic safety and financial fortune.

Although it is not flashy, it is a quiet power spot that also appears in The Tale of Genji.
