Kinugake Falls, located in Ikura Gorge in Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture, is a beautiful waterfall that flows like white silk from a cliff about 60 meters high. You can enjoy the scenery in every season and it is a perfect place to take a break from driving.
Kinugake Falls is known as one of the symbols of Ikura Gorge, which spreads along the Takahashi River. As its name suggests, it is characterized by its elegant appearance that looks like hanging white silk, and it captivates the viewer. The waterfall has a drop of about 60 meters, and the way it flows down in multiple tiers changes its appearance depending on the amount of water, so you can enjoy a different look every time you visit. In particular, the amount of water increases after rain, making it more impressive. It is in wonderful harmony with the surrounding nature, and you can enjoy beautiful scenery throughout the year, with fresh greenery in spring, refreshing coolness in summer, autumn leaves, and snowy scenery in winter.

Located along National Route 180, you can see its majestic appearance from the train window. The waterfall can also be seen from the JR Hakubi Line, making it a popular spot for train fans. There is a parking lot, toilets, and vending machines right next to the waterfall, so many people stop by as a rest spot during their drive. It is also lit up at night, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

It is easily accessible, about 30 minutes by car from Niimi IC on the Chugoku Expressway, and is dotted with tourist spots where you can enjoy the beauty of natural formations, such as the limestone caves "Ikura Cave" and "Maki Cave". The waterfall is also known as "Fudo no Taki" (Immovable Waterfall) because Acala is enshrined near it, and it is attracting attention as a power spot. It is a recommended place for those who want to casually drop in and be soothed by the grandeur and beauty of nature.
