Roadside Station Koigakubo in Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture, is adjacent to the nationally designated natural monument, Koigakubo Marshland. It is known for its rice flour bread, local ingredients, and matchmaking shrine.
Located in Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture, Roadside Station Koigakubo is the only roadside station in the area, located along National Route 182 near the Hiroshima Prefecture border. It is adjacent to the nationally designated natural monument Koigakubo Marsh, from which the station takes its name, and is known as a treasure trove of nature and local ingredients. Freshly baked rice flour bread from Kome Kobo, which uses local rice flour, and dishes made with Niimi's brand beef Chiya beef are popular. Many tourists visit the station in search of beautiful nature and the unique flavors of the region.

The main facility of the roadside station is lined with fresh vegetables and specialty products carefully grown by local farmers, making it a great place to look for souvenirs. At the restaurant Yamano Saikan, you can enjoy local cuisine made with carefully selected ingredients such as Niimi-grown Koshihikari rice, Chiya beef, local miso, and tofu. At the end of each month, a "rice flour pizza making experience" is held, where pizza is baked in a full-scale stone oven made from Okayama's famous Bizen-yaki fireproof bricks, making it a popular experiential spot that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

About 10 minutes by car is the "Koi-ga-kubo Marshland."

[Trivia]
At the "Koi-ga-kubo Roadside Station," there is the "Koi-koi Shrine," which enshrines Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, known as the god of matchmaking, from the phrase "koigakuru." It is said to bring good luck in love and marital harmony, and there is a Koi-koi Shrine face-out panel behind the roadside station.

[Hidden spot information]
The "Koi-ga-kubo Marshland," from which the roadside station's name is derived, is a precious marshland designated as a national natural monument. In particular, rare plants such as marsh marigolds grow in clusters in spring and bitchu-fuuro in summer, and the beautiful nature spreads out, earning it the nickname "West of Oze." There are walking trails within the marshland, allowing you to observe the rich ecosystem while strolling around.
