Todoroki Falls is located upstream of the Hibihara River, a tributary of the Monobe River, and is a designated natural monument and a scenic spot by the prefecture. The three-tiered waterfall, with the upper tier at 23m, the middle tier at 25m, and the lower tier at 34m, each with a different look, violently flows into the blue sparkling pool, making it truly magnificent. The force is overwhelming, especially when the water volume is high. The area around the waterfall basin is home to a sad legend that Tamaorihime, a Heike fugitive, threw herself into the water, and this, combined with the mysterious atmosphere, makes it even more fascinating.

There are well-maintained walking paths and observation decks around the waterfall basin, so you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfall from various angles. The waterfall is colored by nature in every season, with cherry blossoms in spring, deep green in summer, and autumn leaves in autumn, attracting visitors. In particular, during the autumn foliage season, the contrast between the colorful trees and the white spray is wonderful, and it is crowded with many tourists and photographers. This waterfall, which is said to have been visited by poets such as Yoshii Isamu, is one of Kochi Prefecture's most scenic spots, combining history and nature.
