Matsue Vogel Park in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture is a flower and bird theme park that spreads along the shores of Lake Shinji. It is an all-weather park where you can enjoy beautiful flowers and rare birds from around the world all year round.
Matsue Vogel Park is an all-weather facility with a vast site connected by a covered corridor. The Center House, one of the largest exhibition greenhouses in Japan with an area of ​​about 8,000 square meters, is home to about 10,000 flowers, including begonias and fuchsias, that bloom throughout the year, creating a spectacular sight. In addition, about 90 types of rare birds from around the world, 400 birds, are kept in various places in the park, and the attraction is that you can get very close to the birds. Bird shows with dynamic owls and eagles flying around and cute penguin walks are held every day, bringing smiles to the faces of visitors.

Each greenhouse in the park has a different theme, and you can enjoy a variety of flowers and birds. In particular, the experience of interacting with owls, feeding them, and holding birds on your hand is very popular with children and adults alike. You can also enjoy a beautiful view from the observation deck overlooking Lake Shinji. The museum shop has a wide selection of original goods with bird and flower motifs, so you can enjoy choosing souvenirs.

It is very conveniently located, just a one-minute walk from Matsue Vogel Park Station on the Ichibata Railway. If you are driving, it is about 30 minutes from Matsue Higashi IC on the San'in Expressway. The particularly popular Penguin Walk and Owl Show have set times, so you need to check the time schedule in advance so you don't miss these shows. The park is large, but the exhibits are specialized in flowers and birds, so if you are not interested in them, you may get bored. Also, parking is free for up to two hours, but after that a fee will be charged, so be careful if you are staying for a long time.
