"Kurama-ya Shougato Honpo" is a long-established store that has been making ginger candy using the same method for over 200 years since the late Edo period. Made by craftsmen using only carefully selected ginger and sugar, the ginger candy is characterized by its spicy ginger flavor and gentle sweetness. When you put it in your mouth, the aroma of ginger spreads slowly, giving it a nostalgic and heartwarming taste.

The signature product, "Ginger Candy," comes in various shapes, such as thin sheets or diced pieces, and is beautiful to look at, making it the perfect snack to go with tea. In particular, its simple yet refined taste enriches your tea time. Ginger is said to have the effect of warming the body, making it a great item for those who are prone to cold or when they are feeling a little unwell. It is relatively close to Izumo Taisha Shrine, and is also very popular as an "Izumo souvenir."

The interior of the store has a quaint atmosphere that evokes history, and you can enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese confectionery shop. Although there isn't a wide variety of products, you can feel the care put into each one. In addition to ginger candy, other Japanese sweets made with ginger may be available depending on the season. "Kurama-ya Shogato Honpo," which gives a sense of Izumo's tradition and history, is a "long-established Izumo store" that is a must-visit for those looking for a heartwarming souvenir or those who want to try simple Japanese sweets.

Although the store was destroyed by fire in the Meiji era, it was rebuilt in the same period and has a history of 140 years.
