Kinzan-ji Temple is a temple located in the mountains of Okayama City. It is a historic Tendai sect temple founded in the Nara period.

Kinzan-ji Temple is a very historic temple that is said to have been founded by Hoon Daishi in 749 during the Nara period. It once had vast temple land and boasted a large temple complex with many buildings. However, the main hall was destroyed in a fire in 2012. Even now, the three-story pagoda and Daishi Hall are scattered throughout the quiet mountains, evoking vestiges of the past.
