The Hiruzen Plateau is one of the largest plateaus in Western Japan, located at the foot of Mt. Hiruzen on the border of Tottori Prefecture in the north of Okayama Prefecture. The area is attractive for its idyllic scenery created by the majestic nature and Jersey cows. You can enjoy a variety of activities and gourmet food.
The Hiruzen Plateau is a plateau at an altitude of 500 to 600 meters that spreads at the foot of the Hiruzen Mountains (Kami Hiruzen, Naka Hiruzen, and Shimo Hiruzen) that straddle Okayama Prefecture and Tottori Prefecture. It is also known as one of Japan's leading dairy farming areas, with adorable Jersey cows grazing freely in the vast pastures. The scenery is like a painting, providing healing and relaxation to visitors. There are also bicycle paths, so it is recommended to cycle around the plateau while feeling the pleasant breeze.

This area is famous for dairy products such as rich soft ice cream, cheese, and yogurt made with Jersey milk. In addition to being able to taste these exquisite gourmet dishes in various places, there are also many restaurants that make use of local ingredients. In particular, the specialty of Hiruzen, Jingisukan, is a delicious dish of tender lamb meat served with a special sauce, and many tourists visit in search of the taste. There are also plenty of accommodation options such as campsites and cottages, making it ideal for those who want to spend a relaxing time in nature.

In addition, the Hiruzen Plateau offers a wide range of outdoor activities, such as cycling and horse riding, so you can fully enjoy nature. Tourists visit the area throughout the year because of the beautiful scenery and diverse ways to enjoy the four seasons, such as the fresh greenery in spring, the summer as a summer resort, the autumn leaves in autumn, and winter sports in winter. It is a representative highland resort in Okayama, full of attractions that everyone can enjoy, from children to adults.

It is relatively easy to access, about an hour and a half on the highway from Okayama City, and about three hours from Osaka.

For lunch, we recommend the B-class gourmet "Hiruzen Yakisoba" and "Hiruzen Hand-made Soba".

At Jersey Land, you can enjoy rich milk and soft-serve ice cream, and the restaurant also serves Hiruzen Jersey beef steaks.

If you are staying overnight, you should stay at a hot spring inn in the nearby Yubara Onsen.
