Jorokuji is a temple of the Soto sect located in Jorokucho, Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture.
Built in the late 600s, it is the oldest temple in Tokushima Prefecture.
Jorokuji Temple houses many cultural assets, including a wooden seated statue of the Bodhisattva Kannon, which is a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan. The temple grounds also contain many natural scenic spots, such as Joroku Falls, a designated Place of Scenic Beauty of Japan, and Joroku Pine, a designated Natural Monument of Japan.

The temple grounds feature well-maintained gardens and seasonal flowers and trees, which give the temple a different look depending on the time of year you visit. In particular, in autumn, the trees in the temple grounds turn red and yellow, creating a beautiful landscape. The approach from the temple gate to the main hall has a quiet and calming atmosphere, allowing you to take a stroll while calming your mind.
