"Michi-no-Eki Takehara" in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is an impressive roadside station with white-walled Western-style architecture, adjacent to an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. It is a stopover spot where you can find fresh local ingredients, regional cuisine, and souvenirs unique to Takehara.
Roadside Station Takehara is located in Honmachi, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, right next to the Takehara Townscape Preservation District, known as "Little Kyoto of Aki." It is located along National Route 185, making it an easily accessible location for tourists. The facility offers a wide selection of fresh vegetables and fruits grown in Takehara, seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, and local specialties. In particular, since bamboo is the city tree of Takehara, you can find souvenirs unique to Takehara, such as products made with bamboo charcoal and bamboo crafts.

The restaurant offers dishes made with local ingredients. There is a wide selection of local gourmet food, including croquettes and charcoal grills made with Takehara's brand beef, "Taoshitagyu," and the "Takehara Burger," which won an award at the Hiroshima Food Olympics. Also, unusually for a roadside station, local sake and beer are also served, allowing you to fully enjoy Takehara's food culture.
