Okuni Shrine, the Ichinomiya of Totomi Province, is a historic shrine located in Morimachi, Shizuoka Prefecture. Surrounded by abundant nature, with beautiful scenery in every season and a sacred atmosphere, it is a popular shrine for matchmaking and protection from evil.
Oguni Shrine, located in Morimachi, Shuchi District, Shizuoka Prefecture, has long been revered by local people as the Ichinomiya of Totomi Province (present-day western Shizuoka Prefecture). It is said to have been founded around 555 AD, and its deity is Oonamuchi-no-Mikoto, known as the god of marriage and good fortune. In particular, the approach to the main shrine is lined with giant cedar trees that are said to be hundreds of years old, creating a solemn and refreshing atmosphere. The clear waters of the Miyagawa River that flows along the approach are also beautiful, and it is a place where you can feel the richness of nature.

Oguni Shrine is also famous for its flowers that change with the seasons. In spring, cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and in early summer, the Ichinomiya Iris Garden, with its approximately 80,000 irises, is in full bloom, and in autumn, the temple grounds are decorated with autumn leaves. In particular, the Iris Garden is known for its 80 varieties, and is visited by many tourists and photography enthusiasts. Within the temple grounds, there is Kotomachi Yokocho, a street lined with teahouses and souvenir shops, where you can take a break during your stroll and enjoy purchasing local specialties.

The Enshu Morimachi Parking Area Smart Interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway has been completed, making it easily accessible. It is about a 7-minute drive from the interchange.
