The Katsura Imperial Villa (Katsurarikyu) is one of the Imperial Household related facilities and has a wonderful Japanese garden.
The original gardens and buildings from the early Edo period have been preserved, conveying the essence of the imperial court culture of that time to the present day. The circuit style garden is considered a masterpiece of Japanese gardens.

The circuit style garden is a circuit style garden with a pond that skillfully uses water, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of each season. The buildings include shoin-zukuri and tea-ceremony rooms, all of which are delicately designed.

Advance reservations are required for tours. You can apply online from the Imperial Household Agency Kyoto Office website.
