Chogen no Sato is a theme park that honors the achievements of the monk Chogen Shonin, who devoted himself to the reconstruction of Todaiji Temple during the Kamakura period, and allows visitors to experience the lifestyle and culture of the Satoyama. Old thatched-roof houses and watermills are scattered among the rich nature, recreating the traditional Japanese Satoyama scenery. Strolling while listening to the clear babbling of the river and the chirping of the birds will give you a sense of tranquility and peace that will cleanse your soul.

Various Satoyama culture experience programs are available here, including soba noodle making, woodworking, indigo dyeing, weaving, papermaking, and bamboo crafts, allowing children and adults alike to experience traditional Japanese techniques while having fun. Within the park, there is a restaurant where you can enjoy meals made with local ingredients, a tea shop selling sweets, and a shop selling local specialties.
