The main enshrined deities are Amenohiboko and Izushiyamae Okami. Ame-no-Yari is considered to be the god who opened the country of Tajima. Izu Shihachimae-no-Okami is considered to be the guardian deity of Tajima Province.

Izushi Shrine has long been revered as the first shrine of Tajima Province. It is also worshiped as the god of civil engineering, and many people involved in construction visit the shrine.
Many historical buildings remain, such as the main hall designated as a national treasure, the worship hall designated as a national important cultural property, and the kagura hall.

By the way, Awaga Shrine in Asago City is also considered to be Tajima Province Ichinomiya.
