Kurobe Dam Observatory

This is an arch-type concrete dam built upstream of the Kurobe River, one of Japan's most famous rivers.

Kurobe Dam is Japan's largest hydroelectric dam, located on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in the Tateyama Mountain Range. From the Kurobe Dam Observatory at an altitude of 1,508m, you can see the majestic mountains of the Tateyama Mountain Range, including Kurobe Dam.

For the Nagano route, go by bus or taxi from Ogizawa Station.
Ogizawa Station has a free parking lot (spaces) and a paid parking lot (350 spaces).
