Located in the hometown of Takashi Yanase, the creator of Anpanman, this dream-filled facility allows you to experience the world of Anpanman with all five senses and come into contact with Yanase's message.
Located in Kami City, Kochi Prefecture, the Kami City Takashi Yanase Memorial Museum, Anpanman Museum, celebrates the great achievements of Takashi Yanase, the manga artist and picture book author who created the national hero Anpanman, and offers visitors the opportunity to experience his worldview. Divided into three main facilities—the Anpanman Museum, the Poetry and Fairy Tale Picture Book Museum, and the Annex—visitors can not only discover the charm of Anpanman, but also experience Yanase's philosophy and message.
At the Anpanman Museum, the world of Anpanman and his friends is recreated in three dimensions, filled with interactive and playful features for children. The story unfolds with dioramas, dolls, and illustrations, creating an experience that makes visitors feel as if they've entered the world of Anpanman. It's truly a dreamlike space, filled with endless smiles from children. The Takashi Yanase Memorial Museum (Main Building) also features exhibits detailing Yanase's upbringing and creative history, as well as his messages on themes such as "justice" and "love," providing deep reflection for adults as well.
Anpanman stone statues and monuments are scattered throughout the area, making it fun to stroll around like you're on a treasure hunt. The museum shop has a wide selection of limited-edition goods and souvenirs, making it the perfect memento of your visit.
The spacious lawn of the adjacent roadside station is home to large Anpanman playground equipment, allowing children to play to their heart's content.
[Trivia]
Anpanman characters are hidden throughout the facility, making it fun to explore while searching for them.
