The film village was the setting for Sakae Tsuboi's novel "Twenty-Four Eyes." Scenes of a schoolhouse and village from the early Showa period are recreated here, making it a popular spot where you can immerse yourself in a nostalgic world with the beautiful Seto Inland Sea as a backdrop.
Shodoshima Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village is a theme park that preserves and displays the filming locations from the 1954 film "Twenty-Four Eyes." Located on a cape overlooking a beautiful inlet in the Seto Inland Sea, the setting for the story, including a schoolhouse, a fisherman's home, and a familiar restaurant, have been recreated, creating a nostalgic atmosphere that makes you feel as if you've traveled back in time. This is a recommended spot for film fans as well as anyone wanting to experience nostalgic Showa-era scenery.

The park is also home to a wide variety of film-related exhibits, including a gallery displaying film materials and the "Cinema Hermitage," which displays bromides of movie stars from the era. There's also a restaurant where you can enjoy nostalgic snacks and school lunch-inspired menus, allowing you to experience a retro atmosphere with all five senses. Taking photos while sitting at a desk in the schoolhouse with the beautiful Seto Inland Sea as a backdrop is a popular way to enjoy the park.

[Trivia]
"Twenty-Four Eyes," based on the novel of the same name by Sakae Tsuboi, is set on Shodoshima Island in the early Showa period and tells the story of a teacher who raised 24 orphans. As the war intensifies, the students leave school and the teacher is forced to retire. However, after the war, the teacher reunites with his students and regains hope. This moving masterpiece depicts love for humanity and a desire for peace.
