The Gifu Kakamigahara Aerospace Museum (nicknamed Kuchuhaku) is a large facility where you can experience the mechanisms of flight through aviation and space. Outside in front of the entrance, you'll be greeted by actual aircraft, including the domestically produced passenger plane YS-11 and the US-1A rescue flying boat. Inside the museum, you'll find a chronological display of authentic aircraft, including the T-2, F-4EJ Kai, and the world's only remaining Ki-6 Ki-8 Hien fighter. The space area's iconic exhibits include the H-2 rocket fairing and LE-7 engine, providing an intuitive understanding of how rockets fly into space.

Experience-oriented visitors will appreciate the three flight simulators (passenger plane, small jet, and VR helicopter). There's also a playful learning corner for design and the power of the air, a theater, and a shop and cafe, making it a fun half-day experience for the whole family.

Kakamigahara is a city of aviation. The museum's recommended "Aviation Industry History Tour" course is also a great way to trace the history of local manufacturing, beginning with the restoration of the Salmson 2A2 aircraft.
