Affectionately known as the "God of Denbo," this ancient shrine is bustling with worshippers who make the 100-step pilgrimage to pray for recovery from illness. The lively Ishikiri Sando Shopping Street that stretches along the approach to the shrine is also an attraction.
Ishikiri Tsurugiya Shrine is located in Higashiosaka City, Osaka Prefecture, and is an ancient shrine that has long been worshipped as the "god of denbo (swellings and healing of illnesses)". It is said to have been founded about 2,600 years ago, and the sight of many worshippers making a hundred-step pilgrimage to the shrine, praying for recovery from all illnesses, is a famous sight.

A hundred-step stone is placed in front of the main hall, and worshippers go back and forth here to make their wishes. Their earnest prayers leave a deep impression on the hearts of not only worshippers but also visitors. In addition, the shrine is affectionately called "Ishikiri-san" by locals, and is often featured on television and in magazines, so there is a constant stream of worshippers from far away.

The "Ishikiri Sando Shopping Street" stretches along the approach to the shrine, and in addition to a Chinese medicine pharmacy and a store offering amulets and talismans, there are also traditional souvenir shops and restaurants lined up. If you stop by between visits to the shrine, you can enjoy the friendly interactions and gourmet food typical of Osaka, and it is a spot where you can pray for recovery from illness and be soothed both body and mind.
