Sandanbeki is a 60-meter-high precipitous cliff on the east side of Shirahama Onsen.
The columnar joint rock wall, which is about 2 kilometers long and about 50 to 60 meters high, was formed by ancient submarine volcanic activity. The cliffs carved by the raging waves are overwhelmingly powerful and beautiful.

There are observatories and promenades around Sandanbeki, so you can enjoy the superb view from various angles. There are also plenty of places to see, such as caves and spouting rocks.

There is a free "Sandanbeki footbath" where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Sandanbeki while soaking in the footbath.

In addition, cave exploration is also available for a fee.
