Oharajuku was once a post town on the Inaba Highway in Mimasaka Province.
A few years ago, road maintenance and utility poles were removed, and the beautiful townscape of the past has been recreated.

In the middle of the street, you will find Namba-tei, a stylish miscellaneous goods store and a cafe in a renovated old Japanese-style house.

However, as of 2016, there are almost no cafes or restaurants where you can eat and drink.

In July 2017, the building of the Tanaka Sake Brewery, which makes the refined sake "Musashi no Sato", was registered as a national tangible cultural property.

An old post town still remains in Hirafuku, Sayo Town, south of Oharajuku.
In Nishiawakura village on the north side, there are natural hot spring day trip hot spring facilities such as "Yutopia Koganesen".
