Sunshine Aquarium is a high-rise urban aquarium located on the rooftop of the World Import Mart Building in Sunshine City, Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo. Based on the concept of an "oasis in the sky," it offers healing and surprise as if you were in the water, even in the heart of the city. The exhibits, such as sea lion performances and the "Penguins in the Sky" exhibit of penguins swimming overhead, bring out the charm of living creatures from a unique perspective, and can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

The greatest attraction of this aquarium is the way it makes the most of the limited space it has in the middle of the city, on the rooftop of a building. In "Penguins in the Sky," everyone is fascinated by the Cape penguins that look as if they are flying in the sky. In the large tank of "Sunshine Lagoon," various types of fish swim around, creating a fantastic world that will make you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Feeding time for sea lions and pelicans is also one of the highlights.

Sunshine Aquarium is not just a place to look at the aquarium tanks, but also a place where you can observe and learn about the ecology and behavior of the creatures up close.
