Roadside Station Hirafuku Shukubamachi in Sayo Town, Hyogo Prefecture, is a roadside station that retains the atmosphere of a post town on the Inaba Highway. It will be renovated and reopened in April 2025, allowing you to enjoy an even more extensive range of local gourmet food and specialty products.
Roadside Station Shukubamachi Hirafuku is located in Hirafuku, Sayo-cho, Sayo-gun, Hyogo Prefecture, at the entrance to Hirafuku-juku, which once flourished as the leading post town on the Inaba Kaido. It was reopened on April 20, 2025, with the sales floor area of the direct sales store being expanded and the restaurant menu being renewed. The roadside station building itself has a calm exterior that matches the townscape of Hirafuku, but the interior has been reborn as a space full of local color.

The direct sales store has a wide selection of miso and soy sauce made with Sayo-cho's specialty "Sayo Mochi Soybeans," local vegetables, and products related to Sayo-cho's specialty "Hormone Yakiudon." You can also enjoy unique B-class gourmet foods such as "Shika Korokke" made with venison. At the restaurant, you can taste the rich bounty of Sayo-cho with a buffet style that uses plenty of vegetables picked that morning.

The area around the roadside station is lined with the streets of Hirafuku-juku, which still retain their former appearance, and the storehouses on the riverside and old townhouses create a historic atmosphere. It is also within walking distance of Hirafuku Station on the Chizu Express, making it convenient for tourists arriving by train. It is a popular rest spot for tourists, and a base for experiencing the history, culture, and food of Sayo-cho, and is bustling with tourists.

Hirafuku used to be a prosperous post town, and the streets just around the road to the station are lined with old-fashioned houses.
Along the river behind the road, you can see the impressive scenery of the stone walls and white and clay walls of the river houses.
Also, near the entrance to the post town, there is the place where Miyamoto Musashi fought his first duel.
