Hamamatsu Castle is the castle where Tokugawa Ieyasu spent 17 years of his youth and built a foothold for unifying the country. From the castle park, you can get a panoramic view of Hamamatsu city.
Hamamatsu Castle, located in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is known as the "Castle of Success" as it is the castle where Tokugawa Ieyasu spent 17 years from age 29 to 45 and built the foundation for unifying the country. The current castle tower was rebuilt in 1958, and the interior is an exhibition room that displays Ieyasu's life, the history of Hamamatsu, and weapons and furnishings from that time. From the top floor, you can enjoy an open view of not only Hamamatsu city but also Lake Hamana in the distance, allowing you to reminisce about history.

Hamamatsu Castle Park, where the castle is located, is maintained as a beautiful park where you can enjoy flowers of all seasons, and is particularly popular in spring as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. In addition to the castle tower, the park also has a Japanese garden and a teahouse called "Shointei," where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll. The stone walls are made by stacking natural stones in the "nozurazumi" style, and their powerful appearance strongly retains the appearance of the castle when it was first built.

It is also a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.

The castle ruins have been turned into a park, and include a Japanese garden and the Hamamatsu City Museum of Art.
